The Role

As a Software Engineer, you’ll help drive the execution of features to provide a best-in-class experience for underserved customers. You will participate in the architectural direction, implementation, and delivery of our systems. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering.


  • Develop and maintain highly scalable APIs
  • Develop API documentation
  • Develop tests to stress system performance and ensure resilience
  • Assist in the integration of third-party data sources and APIs
  • Translate designs and wireframes into elegant code
  • Contribute to the architecture of Sigo’s systems
  • Contribute to thoughtful code review and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Continuous improvement, code refactoring, and development/testing practices


  • 1+ year(s) of engineering experience
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, React Native, ExpressJS
  • Experience with cloud computing technologies, primarily Google Cloud/AWS/Azure/Heroku
  • Experience with serverless computing and event-triggered development
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance preferred
  • Ability to collaborate and work closely in cross-functional teams
  • Lead and thrive in non-hierarchical settings
  • Scrappy, self-starting hustler, able to get things done in an unstructured startup environment
